I had a great talk with TCNJ Alum Kimmy Cacciato, who currently works as a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Educator in Pennsylvania. She also needs hearing aids, and has had to pay thousands of dollars out of pocket just so that she can hear.
In the interview, we go into depth about the costs of hearing aids in 2022, and the extra costs associated with them. We also talk about why insurance companies should see hearing aids as an essential medical device. Currently, they are seen as "elective", which means that in most cases, they are not covered.
